The only thing that sometimes stumps me is the terminology. So I just copy step for step what they do. What I do is have the YouTube video playing on a separate monitor and have Affinity running on the other. Full of great in depth detail on all the basics. But the one I felt that was better for beginners is the one below that I will paste the link to. So someone pointed me in the direction on the YouTube channel called Affinity Revolution, which is pretty good. But I subscribed to YouTube premium and it makes the learning so much better, because there are no Advertisement breaks for the paid subscription. The thing that's sucks about YouTube is the advertisements during the videos. I'm self teaching and mainly using YouTube videos for their lessons. I'm in the same shoes as you, as I just starting learning graphic design from scratch last week. So usually paying for something is going to get you a better quality product.
